uPVC Vibration Absorbing Joint

As the local market leader in rainwater downpipe system, we Plastics (M) Sdn. Bhd. would like to introduce our new innovative product ie : BS4576 uPVC Vibration Absorbing Joint. This new developed product offers the benefits inherent in plastics such as lightweight, strength, corrosion resistance and easy installation. It is suitable to use in the rainwater drainage pipeworks for Elevated Highway; Bridges; Fly-over; LRT; Monorail; Elevated Railway etc.

The body is made form superior grade uPVC raw material complete with a patented S-profiled Rubber Ring which is made comply to BS2494:1976 Material for elastometric joint rings for pipework and pipelines. This high quality rubber ring made by Natural Rubber (NR) with added Ultraviolet (UV) and weather resistance stabilizers caused no corrosion, no electrolytic action and no embrittlement. It is designed to absorb thousand and thousand times of vibration when the heavy vehicles travel on top of the bridge or fly-over. This will prevent the uPVC pipes or fittings from crack, give-way and water leaking problems.

This specially designed push-fit high flexibility Vibration Absorbing Jointprovide a maximum of 15mm offset from center to center for either horizontal or vertical pipework installation, with this product it will solve the curve pipework to be installed in order to follow the curve design of the bridge or fly-over. It also absorbs the thermal expansion for the uPVC pipeworks.

This Vibration Absorbing Joint is highly recommended to install at the point between one side of the pipe which is movable and the other side is immovable, for an example (see Fig 3, 4 & 7) the horizontal runner drainage pipes fixed at the soffit of the deck (this part is movable due to vibration) run towards the vertical downpipe which is mounted on or casted inside the RC column / pier (this part is

immovable). Therefore in-cooperate with this Vibration Absorbing Joint in the drainage pipeworks for bridge / fly-over is not necessary to use thick wall pipes for exposed installation, it can use our Normal Duty or Medium Duty of Pipes, unless the uPVC pipes is casted in RC column / pier / deck or buried underground it have to use the BS4576 Heavy Duty Pipes. (These Pipes are made compiled to ISO 4422-2:1996 (E) SDR21 PN12.5 PVC-U Pipes & Fittings for Water Supply, with a working pressure of 12.5 Bars).
